Changes in Bail System
Looks like the bail system in California is headed for a major overhaul. It's about time. Bail for nonviolent offenders is set at ridiculous amounts and have nothing to do with whether or not a defendant goes to their court dates. A person's economic position and ability to post bail should not be a factor in the equation of attending court dates.
